GreenTech Cluster Rhine-Main-Neckar gains another expert member
Robert Lippmann (IHK Darmstadt), Prof. Dr. Jörg von Hagen and Steffen Bruckner (both ryon) sign contract
Network for more support for sustainable start-ups
Darmstadt/Gernsheim, January 25, 2024 - With today's signature, Robert Lippmann, Managing Director of the IHK Darmstadt Rhein Main Neckar, and the two ryon GreenTech Accelerator Managing Directors Steffen Bruckner and Prof. Dr. Jörg von Hagen sealed the cooperation between the two parties in the promotion of sustainable start-ups. The basis for this is the expert membership of the IHK Darmstadt in the GreenTech Cluster Rhine-Main-Neckar, which was initiated by ryon.
This important step is a strong signal, especially for those who want to make a contribution to a more sustainable future with their business ideas: "The Green Tech Cluster brings together players from research, politics, finance, industry and start-ups. The aim is to establish a start-up ecosystem that is regarded as the development hub for green tech start-ups," says ryon CEO Steffen Bruckner. "In addition, one of the goals is to further promote the region as a leading location for innovative business with highly qualified jobs," continues Bruckner.
Goals that the Darmstadt Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with its 65,000 member companies, also stands for. "With our network and our expertise in start-ups, we will support sustainable start-ups within the cluster in the future," says IHK Managing Director Robert Lippmann. "This is another important building block in the strong start-up scene in our region. We are looking forward to innovations from ryon."
"We are delighted that more than 25 companies from different sectors and of different sizes have joined the RhineMain-Neckar GreenTech Cluster to date. This is the foundation for many successful companies from the Rhine-Main-Neckar region. We would like to thank all network partners for their cooperation," emphasizes Prof. Dr. Jörg von Hagen (Managing Director of ryon).
The GreenTech Accelerator ryon combines the expertise of science and business and promotes the development of sustainable solutions in the fields of environmental technologies, chemistry, biotechnology, materials science and engineering. The shareholder structure with Goethe University Frankfurt, Merck, the Technical University of Darmstadt, Hessen Trade & Invest and the Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen laid the foundation for creating a flourishing start-up ecosystem in the Rhine-Main-Neckar region when the company was founded in September 2022.
The company is based at GreenTech Park FLUXUM Gernsheim, where start-ups are offered laboratory and production infrastructure in addition to coaching programs, a broad network and consulting services.
